ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

REJECT A
TAX INCREASE
County officials are proposing a variety of tax increases that our families cannot afford.
Housing, health care, education, and grocery prices are skyrocketing. And instead of easing the financial burden, county officials are prosing to make it worse.
Additionally, the economic uncertainty and massive layoffs of the federal workforce are adding to an already tough burden for our community.

Montgomery County is discussing two disastrous tax proposals: One would increase property taxes by over 6%. The other would be a hike in the income tax by over 3%.
Make no mistake: these tax hikes will be shouldered most by middle-class families.

While our families tighten our belts and balance our budgets, our county government continues to spend more and grow the deficit. Montgomery County needs to live within their means.

RALLY AGAINST TAX INCREASES
HARDSHIP
FOR FAMILIES
With the increase in fuel, grocery, and health care prices, a tax increase will make it more difficult to find financial stability in our community.
BAD FOR
THE ECONOMY
Our focus should be on finding ways to increase housing affordability to help stimulate economic growth, especially with the massive layoffs of the federal workforce.
HURTS
SENIORS
Many of the proposed tax increases would be more than this year’s Social Security cost-of-living (COLA) increase. We cannot ask seniors to pay more taxes while their Social Security lags behind these hikes. Where are they supposed to find the money?
